How the Scrabble word finder works
Find your best Scrabble play in seconds. Enter your seven tiles — use ? for a blank — and every legal word is listed, ranked by score. Seven-letter words that use your whole rack are flagged as BINGO, earning a 50-point bonus in play. Filter by length, starting letter, ending letter, or letters the word must contain.
Scrabble uses two main dictionaries depending on where you play: TWL (Tournament Word List) is standard in North America, while SOWPODS (Collins Scrabble Words) is used internationally. The lists overlap significantly but include different words. This finder uses TWL. If you play internationally, a small number of results may differ from your version of the game.
Tips to improve your score
Know Q without U
The Q tile scores 10 points, but drawing it without a U can feel like a curse. Memorize these: QI (2 letters, 11 pts), QOPH (4 letters), QANAT (5 letters), QIGONG (6 letters). Enter Q? in the finder to see all options from your rack.
Aim for the 50-point bingo
Using all 7 tiles earns a 50-point bonus — often the difference between winning and losing. Balanced racks with common letters (S, A, E, I, N, R, T) are most bingo-prone. Common bingo stems: SATINE, RETINA, AIREST. Add one letter from the board and you have a bingo.
Learn the key 2-letter words
There are 107 valid 2-letter words in TWL. The most useful high-scorers: QI (11 pts), ZA (11 pts), AX and OX (9 pts), XI and XU (9 pts), JO (9 pts). These let you score from a single power tile while building new word lanes.
Use S tiles to extend, not to score
S tiles are 1 point each but are most valuable as extenders. An S that pluralizes an existing word while enabling a longer word from your rack is worth far more than spending it on a small standalone play.
Control triple-word squares
Triple-word squares (TW) are the most powerful positions on the board. Avoid opening them for your opponent. If you must play near one, use words that don't leave an easy high-scoring hookup.
Track remaining tiles
Knowing which tiles have been played helps you predict what your opponent has. If all four S tiles are gone, nobody can pluralize. In casual play, the finder helps you explore all options from your current rack without needing to track everything.

- What is a bingo in Scrabble?
- A bingo is when you play all seven tiles from your rack in a single turn, earning a 50-point bonus on top of the word's tile value. The finder flags 7-letter words with a BINGO badge. In Words With Friends the equivalent bonus is 35 points.
- Which dictionary does it use?
- The finder uses the TWL (Tournament Word List), the standard dictionary for North American club and tournament Scrabble. Internationally, players use SOWPODS/Collins Scrabble Words, which contains more words. A small number of TWL results may not be in Collins and vice versa.
- Can I use blank tiles?
- Yes. Type ? for each blank in your rack and it acts as a wildcard for any letter. Blank tiles score 0 points regardless of which letter they represent — this is standard Scrabble rules.
- What is the difference between TWL and SOWPODS?
- TWL is used in North American Scrabble. SOWPODS (Collins Scrabble Words) is used in most other countries and contains significantly more words — around 276,000 versus TWL's 187,000. If a word isn't in TWL but you've seen it accepted elsewhere, it may be a SOWPODS-only word.
- Are there Scrabble words with Q that don't need a U?
- Yes. Valid TWL words: QI (2 letters, 11 pts), QOPH (4 letters), QANAT (5 letters), QIGONG (6 letters), QINTAR (6 letters). QI is the most useful — short and worth 11 points from a single high-value tile.
- What rack gives the best bingo chances?
